Hello
Well im a sophomore and am having a tough time in school. I have about a 2.0 gpa average (Both years) I really want/ need to get into college. (Not a community college) A state university. Im really interested in Ohio university (I live in Ohio) or a branch of university of wisconsin, such as milwaukee or green bay. What do I need to do such as grades, extra curricular activites, ACT/SAT, etc. Thanks !

Personally a 2.0 is quite low and it is a major set-back. I suggest that you analyze your study habits since studying last minute is not a good idea…it is all about preparing (these habits will go with you into college). Grades should be at least 3.0, all schools like to see students that are well-rounded (involved in sports/volunteer work/clubs/etc), and SAT scores of 1250+ should be okay for most state schools (I would talk further with the representatives of the school to clarify).
Let me be clear-do not spread yourself too thin and always try your best…that is all you can do and I’m sure you will do just fine :)
    Take care!

You need to pull up your grades before you do anything else. You need at least a 2.5 GPA to get into the lowest-ranked 4-year schools, and a 3.0 or better for good schools. A 2.0 is almost a failing GPA in college – if you’re having this much trouble in high school, you’re not going to pass college. College expects a lot more than high school.

-Raise grades past 3 or even better 3.3
-Join at least 1 extra curricular
    -Min 1500 on SAT
These are my mininum standards. Since this is your sophomore year, you still have around 2 quarters for school left? Get those grades up! They are really important. The SAT is important too. Extra curriculars can help but aren’t as major. Add Extra curriculars once you can handle grades and SAT/ACT

Trust me, the degree is the same no matter where you go to school at. So’s your phd, md, and every other dergree you can get. Do what you can and dont sweat it.
