What Are Your Thoughts On Green Bay’s Quarterback Aaron Rodgers?
I am from Appleton, Wisconsin, just about a half hour away from Green Bay, and Aaron Rodgers is my favorite player. He is a very great QB in my opinion and just because Favre is gone they automatically think Aaron Rodgers is either going to A. be better than Brett Favre. Or B. Be a bad QB for the team. So far he is doing good, we are in 9th place in the NFL standings, and our offensive line suck, and Aaron Rodgers can still throw that ball to the right receivers. If anybody here thinks Aaron Rodgers sucks, its because of the offensive line, NOT HIM, watch his college highlights I swear you will like it. The Bears and him (California Bears) led the championship in 2003 and 2004 (I believe). So yeah imagine if Aaron Rodgers had an offensive line like the Steelers or the Colts, just imagine how deadly he would be. Anyways people post your thoughts about Aaron Rodgers, tell me what you think he is good at, or what he needs to improve on.

He will never measure up to Brett Favre,I will never understand why Green Bay has tried to so hard to vilify this Great hall of fame quarterback.
But you have Mr,rodgers now and you are stuck with him,get used to losing, you deserve it for backstabbing the greatest player ever to step on the field.I will enjoy watching you snivelling cheeseheads wallow in the misery of chronic failure while Brett continues to rewrite the record book! HA! SUFFER!,

Not only has Aaron improved from last year, he is also improving throughout the year. Granted, the play calling has helped as well. The receivers are not going downfield on every play and Rodgers is throwing more screens and check downs. He is getting the ball out quicker and making better decisions. Maybe he will never be as good as Favre but we don’t know yet. I think he will be like Steve Young, a hall-of-famer but always under the shadow of Montana.

I am a HUGE packers fan… and it is obvious Aaron Rodgers is an elite QB… 3rd best passer rating in the league. however when you say it is the offensive line, not him. you are wrong. the offensive line is obviously awful, but Aaron Rodgers needs to get rid of the ball quicker too, sometimes I watch him sit there forever and I freak out cuz he doesn’t get rid of it.. he has done a lot better tho ever since the Bucs game

You should give Kevin B the best answer, he nailed it.
To the other guy that said the sacks are mostly Rodgers fault: after the Bucs game, Aaron Rodgers was sacked 38 times. 27 of those sacks were in less than 3 seconds. The OL is expected to give its QB 4 seconds in the pocket. Therefore, 11 sacks were Rodgers’ fault, which is not even close to being half of the sacks.

Rodgers is a good QB. He makes his mistakes, but this is only his 2nd year as the starter.
It is stupid when people compare Rodgers and Favre. Favre is a legend, and one of the best players to ever play in the NFL. Rodgers has 27 starts, there is no comparison.
I’m glad we have him here, and as long as he stays healthy, he has a great career ahead of him.

I think Aaron Rodgers is already a very good QB with a strong chance to become a great QB. When you think of all the high draft choices at QB that have been complete busts (Jamarcus Russell, Alex Smith, etc), Packers’ fans should be very pleased to have Rodgers as their QB.
Playing quarterback in the NFL is an extremely complex position and even a lot of very good QBs struggle initially. For instance Peyton Manning threw 26 TD and 28 INT his rookie year. Drew Brees threw for 17 TD and 16 INT his first year as a starter and followed that up with 11 TD and 15 INT the next year. Those guys are probably the two best QBs in the league.
Compare that to Rodgers who threw for 28 TD and 13 INT last year along with 4000 yards. This year he’s even improved his numbers to 22 TD and 5 INT, and most importantly leading the Packers into contention for a playoff spot.
This is all despite a poor offensive line that has been deciminated by injuries. With the way people talk about David Carr’s career getting destroyed because of his porous offensive line, it’s just amazing that Rodgers has been able to be so productive despite all those sacks. Rodgers’ performance has been even more impressive when you consider that he’s had to deal with the burden of replacing a legend like Brett Favre.
