Detroit Lions Tickets- Furrey Placed on Injured Reserve
As of week 13, the Detroit Lions are still winless with a record of 0-12. The team gets a chance to be in the spotlight every Thanksgiving when they host the traditional turkey day game, but unfortunately this year they were paired up with the league-leading Tennessee Titans. The result was that the Lions were stuffed more than the turkey, losing 47-10. The Lions got more bad news days after the game when the Lions chose to put wide receiver Mike Furrey on injured reserve after he suffered a concussion. To compensate for the loss, the Lions added wide receiver Keary Colbert to their roster. Fans are inevitably excited to see what Colbert can do and they can be a part of the Lions final stretch of the season by getting Detroit Lions tickets and other sporting event tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/detroit-lions-tickets.
Furrey went to college at Northern Iowa and had more than 1,000 yards in three different seasons there. He first joined the Indianapolis Colts during the training camp of 2000 as an undrafted free agent. The next year, he played with the Las Vegas Outlaws in the now nonexistent XFL. He switched to the AFL in 2002 and played for the New York Dragons. He did well enough in 2002 to be signed by the St. Louis Rams in 2003. He played in 13 games in the 2003 season with the Rams. That season he had 20 receptions for 189 yards as well as 11 punt returns and seven kick returns. He spent the next two seasons with the Rams, but switched to playing mostly defense n 2005. That year, he had 48 tackles, eight passes defended, four interceptions and one touchdown. He came to Detroit in 2006 and had 98 receptions for 1,086 yards and six touchdowns that season. He started in 10 out of 16 games he played in 2007, nabbing one touchdown. In 2008, Furrey had only started in two games and amassed 181 yards receiving.
Detroit marks the third team just this season for Colbert, who also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos. The fifth-year pro went to college at USC and was drafted in the second round of the 2004 draft by the Carolina Panthers. He started in 15 games his rookie season, tallying 754 yards and five touchdowns. The next year, he started in every game for 282 yards and two touchdowns. He played in 12 games in 2006 but only started in three. He started eight out of the 12 games he played in 2007 and had 332 yards receiving. He signed with Denver in 2008 and played in two games before being traded to the Seahawks. In Seattle, he played seven games and started four, tallying 52 yards and one touchdown.
The Lions have recently been adding players to try to turn around their luck like quarterback Daunte Culpepper. They also fired their president, Matt Millen, earlier this season. The Lions will try not to be the first team with a 0-16 record as they face teams like the New Orleans Saints, the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers.
